Respect important component if Marriage

They are some basics which a couple should keep in mind when entering marriage as it will be the foundation of their marriage. One of those things should be respect

In a marriage you must have respect for the other person and you must always be aware of how your actions may affect the other person and your life together. Remember the image you present to those outside may affect your life as you as a couple cannot live in an isolated bubble.

The first thing I would say you need is respect, you need to respect your partner and respect their relationship with your family and friends. The respect is shown by never calling him/her out in front of your family, never calling out his mistakes in front of others, take them aside and bring up any issues. Don't belittle or call them names in front of others (though you shouldn't privately either) as if you don’t show them respect why would your family and friends.

Part of the above-mentioned respect is not to run back to your family about every little thing as you will forget and forgive them, but they will remember as they haven't got your love to balance it out specially if they are only hearing the negatives.

Whatever issues you have with your partner unless family intervention is required then it should be kept private and resolved between the couple. There is nothing more awkward then being caught in the middle of a couple who are arguing as if you are not there or trying to bring you . It can affect the family dynamics and make things awkward going forward.

Respect your partners family like you would like them to respect yours and think that if you always have in the back of your mind if this was my parents /sibling what would I like my partner to do.

If you always keep respect in the forefront of your mind, then you should be able to make things easier to deal with.

Finally, remember the first year is difficult, there is a lot of adjustments to be made as you won’t be used to each other or dealing with someone else at such proximity so ensure you communicate calmly any concerns so you can work through them and be sure to make allowances
